![]() Echo The Echo allows you to use existing content in the project in several places within Timeline. To mirror content with the Echo object, it is placed in a Flexi-Collage object. Such a Flexi-Collage marked as a "source" can then be automatically recognized by the Echo object, and targeted referencing by name at the Flexi-Collage is also possible. |
![]() Insert echo object To be able to use the echo object, you always need a simultaneously running echo source. A correspondingly marked Flexi-Collage serves as the echo source. The Flexi-Collage can simply contain images or videos, but also complex collages, animations or (mask) effects.

2 Flexi-Collage settings
![]() Properties Flexi-Collage for echo function All Flexi-Collagen can be used as an echo source. To make an Flexi-Collage available as a source, check the Echo source box in the Properties of the Flexi-Collage. The Flexi-Collage can then be "seen" by the Echo object. Also decide whether the Echo source itself should also be displayed. To clearly identify the Flexi-Collage, it can be given a name. A unique reference to this source can then be made on the Echo object. This is recommended if several Flexi-Collagen are available at Echo runtime.

3 Echo object settings
![]() Echo properties Use the selection for the source to specify from which Flexi-Collage the echo should play the content and, if necessary, modify it with other effects available on the Echo.

To show a video several times in different colors as a collage, you could place it four times in a layout effect. However, if you want to cut the video later, this would have to be done on all four videos.
Playing and editing is more efficient if the video is only available once in the Timeline and this is used as an echo in the desired number. The video can then be cut, accelerated or replaced with another video clip at a later stage - the change is only made once in the echo source.
The following example shows a layout effect variant in which the echo object is used.
![]() Example for using the echo object 1. Insert a Flexi-Collage object into the Timeline and insert a video. Mark the Flexi-Collage as an echo source in the Properties and leave the checkmark next to Show source.2. Drag an Echo object from Toolbox to Timeline below the Flexi-Collage. In the Properties, set Available, simultaneously played Flexi-Collage as the source. Adjust the duration of the echo to the duration of the Flexi-Collage. 4. Place the four echoes one below the other in the layout effect. In the properties of the layout effect, set the layout to Horizontal grid. Lower the margin and space to 0%. At Flexi-Collage, deactivate the Show source checkbox . (In principle, you can also use just three echo objects and include the Flexi-Collage in the layout effect. The variant with the four echoes was chosen here for greater clarity. Depending on the effect and your own discretion, decide whether the source should be displayed or not). 5. Drag the LUT effect (or other color effects) onto an echo object and select different settings for the effect.
